Emerald Mist - Freeform Peyote Bracelet #4

This is really not a very good photograph of this bracelet. I'll have to try to get something better. It's not my favourite, but it's better than the photo makes it look. This was a first try with including larger focus elements. I'm still really enjoying this technique. And I keep thinking I need more seed beads.

Shades of Mauve - Freeform Peyote Bracelet #3

This is my third attempt at freeform peyote stitch. It sure is fun watching the piece reveal itself. Sometimes, as I've mentioned before, it's hard to know when it's "finished" and I've read about other bead artists who continued on a bracelet years after it was first "finished". This one has some semi-precious stones and a few Swarovski crystals too.

Northern Sunset - Freeform Peyote Bracelet #2

I've been enjoying working on freeform peyote bracelets. This is actually the second I've ever made. I am very happy with how it came out. It hasn't got a closing yet because I need to shop for something special to go with the garnets in it. It's funny about working freeform. It can be hard to tell when it's done as the design develops as you work.

Woven Bag

I've been wanting to try out this technique for a while and finally got to it yesterday. It's a little woven bag...3.5" X 6" and I'm happy with how the experiment turned out. I still need to add a beaded neck piece to it. Next one will be bigger I think. So simple and a great way to use up odds and ends of yarn.

Midnight Fringe Bracelet #4

I've finished another fringe bracelet. It's been on the go for a while and I finally finished it. I've been eager to start another freeform peyote bracelet but made myself finish this one first. Unfortunately these bracelets just don't photograph as well as they truly look. The bracelet is for sale at my Etsy shop. wmarlaine.etsy.com if you are interested.

I'm not doing nothing!

When I don't post to my blog for a few days, I feel like I need to post something. I've been working on some hand stitched quilt blocks that I'm anxious to have complete. When I have one done, I'll post a photo here. The block is three dimensional violets growing in small pots. I'm remembering how much I enjoy any quilting hand work I do. If only there were more hours in a day and years in a lifetime.

Freeform Peyote Bracelet

I'd been admiring freeform peyote bracelets I'd seen on the internet and decided I had to try it for myself. I found a tutorial online, but unfortunately it didn't give much detail. After scouring all of the beading magazines and books I have, I decided that the only thing to do was just jump in with both feet and try it. I'm not thrilled with the result but in spite of that, I learned a lot from the exercise. I'm just waiting for some beads coming in the mail to start the next one!

Everything Is For Sale

If you happen to see something here that you'd like to have for your own, leave me a comment with your email and I'll get back for you. It's pretty easy to handle. I'd just put it in my Etsy shop (if it isn't already there) and you can purchase it using Pay Pal or a Credit Card. Thanks in advance for your interest!!

Rainey's Fringe Bracelet #3

This is a bracelet I made for my daughter. She requested the colours that are in it. The bracelet has African Opals, Jasper, fresh water pearls and a variety of glass beads in it. Unfortunately, the photos really do not do it justice.

GIFTED - January 2008
